The following analysis compares the performance of the three categories of LED (Conventional, High Brightness and µLED™) across three different values of NA. The data shows that the MicroLED
outperforms the Conventional and High Brightness LEDs on all parameters relating to lumens/watt, cost/lumen and wall plug efficiency, with the performance advantage being specifically strong for lower NA applications. It should be noted that the lumens per mm2 for the MicroLED
is lower meaning that a larger area LED die would be required to obtain equivalent optical output. However, this disadvantage reduces as the NA reduces.
